Health Information Technology
Collaborative Program with Competitive Enrollment
Learn the essential skills to work in health information, a growing career field that includes coding and indexing diagnoses and procedures in health care and insurance companies. You may also work in coordinating information for designing controls, quality management, statistics, marketing, planning and compliance with government and industry standards and research. Upon graduation, you may become a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) by examination.

Collaborative Program
The Health Information Technology degree is offered by Mitchell Community College in conjunction with Pitt Community College, which awards the degree. You may take general courses at Mitchell and complete all Health Technology technical courses online through Pitt.
Students must complete the application process at both Mitchell Community College and Pitt Community College.
Competitive Enrollment
The Health Information Technology program typically has more applicants than available space. Applicants must meet additional requirements including sufficient math and science courses, certifications, physical exams, etc. Competitive enrollment programs may have different application deadlines and requirements.
