Mitchell Community College named Haley Jones as Student of the Month. Paul Cook, market president for Wells Fargo, one of the College’s annual sponsors presented the award.
Jones is currently working on an associate in arts college transfer degree and will graduate in May. She plans to transfer to The University of North Carolina-Greensboro and pursue a degree in journalism. Jones completed an internship at the Statesville Record and Landmark where she shadowed reporters and was excited when one of her stories was published. That practical experience and mentoring helped confirm her career plans.
At Mitchell, Jones has been an asset to the Student Government Association volunteering to help with their many initiatives. In the fall of 2013, she spearheaded the student United Way Campaign. She is an active member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
