Course Descriptions:

Calligraphy 101
Participants learn to write lower case letters of the alphabet using the Chancery Cursive style and use their skill to personalize a multipurpose box that measures 9”x7”x2.5”.  All supplies provided.  Registration deadline is ten days prior to the class date.

Calligraphy 102
Students learn to write upper case letters of the alphabet using the Chancery Cursive style and use their skill on writing paper to create personalized stationery.  All supplies provided.  Completion of Calligraphy 101 or equivalent experience is required to enroll.  Registration deadline is ten days prior to the class date.

Computer, Introduction      
This class is designed to cover the most sought-after skills for the home computer user.  Students will learn how to use email, explore the internet and more.

 Dance:  Shag Introduction      
This class provides an introduction to Carolina Shag dancing.  Students will learn the basic step, male/female turns and more from a talented dancer and experienced teacher.

 Genealogy:  Becoming a Family History Detective  (choice of dates and location) 
This class provides inspiration, motivation and practical tools to individuals who are ready for a journey of family discovery. 

 Guitar Introduction     
Interested in learning to play the guitar?  This class provides an introduction from an experienced teacher and master guitarist.  Students must provide their own acoustic guitar.

Locker Hooking      
Learn this hand craft and turn scraps of fabric and yarn or twine into useful and decorative items such as rugs, coasters, pictures, etc.  Supply list available.

Macrame, Intro   NEW!
Students will learn basic knotting techniques to complete two projects: holiday ornaments and a seasonal wall hanging.  All supplies are provided.  Registration deadline is ten days prior to the class date.

 Quilting, Beginning and Intermediate 
This class is designed for beginners and individuals with quilting experience.  Beginning students will receive a supply list upon registration.  They will complete a sampler wall hanging while learning basic skills and techniques.  Experienced quilters will supply materials and complete their project of choice.

Serger Operation
Bring your serger to class and improve your skill using it! Overcasting edges with a serger does more than prevent fraying.  It improves the appearance of finished products!

Sewing, Beginning and Intermediate  
This class is designed for beginners and individuals with sewing experience.  Beginning students will receive a supply list upon registration.  They will complete three small projects to experience different types of sewing:  garment construction, quilting and home décor.  Experienced sewers will supply materials and complete their project of choice.

 Stained Glass, Beginning and Advanced  
For beginning students, the content of this class includes proper glass cutting techniques, soldering and antiquing.  Materials for the first project provided; additional tools and materials to be supplied by students.  Experienced students work on their projects of choice with the instructor’s guidance.

Waterfowl Decoy Construction NEW!
During this class students will make a waterfowl decoy from start to finish. They will learn the history of decoy making and the special tie this craft has to the NC coast.  All supplies provided.

 Watercolor Painting, Beginning and Experienced  
This class is open to beginners and experienced students.  During this class, students learn to mix paints for desired color and shade, practice composition, and perspective.  Materials for the first session are provided to new students.

 .Project Yellowstone      June 13 -19, 2023       $1960 per person + cost of meals 

Project Yellowstone provides unique and hands-ons learning experiences in the ultimate outdoor classroom, Yellowstone National Park.  Participants will view wildlife, hike trails, explore plant life/physical formations and participate in research projects.
