Mitchell business program gets new coordinator

 

Statesville, NC – Phil Holleran was recently named Coordinator of Mitchell Community College’s Business program. Holleran joined the Mitchell faculty in August 2007, teaching courses in Business Administration, Economics, and Marketing. He has received the College’s R.D. Grier Excellence in Education Award and the Excellence in Service to Students Award from the National Society of Leadership and Success.

 

Prior to coming to Mitchell, Holleran taught Economics at Hampden-Sydney College and at Radford University. He also worked in local economic development and as an independent research consultant in marketing and business analysis. Holleran received a B.A. in Economics from Wabash College, an M.B.A. from Old Dominion University, and completed graduate coursework and Ph.D. qualifying exams in Economics at the University of Virginia.

 

Requirements for Mitchell’s Business Administration Associate in Applied Science degree will be streamlined beginning in fall 2015. Graduates of the business program are not only prepared for success in the workforce. With numerous articulation agreements, students also have the opportunity to continue their studies at a 4-year institution.
