Accreditation information is published to enable interested constituents (1) to learn about the accreditation status of the institution, (2) to file a third-party comment at the time of the institution’s decennial review, or (3) to file a complaint against the institution for alleged non-compliance with a standard or requirement. Normal inquiries about Mitchell Community College, such as admissions requirements, financial aid, educational programs, etc., should be addressed directly to Mitchell Community College and not the listed accrediting organizations. 

Student and Public Complaint Policy and Procedures 

 
Mitchell Community College provides complaint procedures for students under established grievance procedures described in the College Catalog and Student Handbook. Members of the public may also register complaints by forwarding signed, written statements to the Office of the President, Mitchell Community College, 500 W. Broad Street, Statesville, North Carolina. Mitchell will not entertain complaints that are not in writing or which are anonymous, nor will it consider complaints sent electronically or through facsimile transmission. The President, or the President’s designee, may require further information from the complainant and may seek information from appropriate college offices, as needed to respond to the complaint.
