Art 241 Painting II students are finishing up work this month on the Lamont Kinney Memorial Mural. The mural remembers and celebrates the contributions of Lamont Kinney to Mitchell campus life, and is planned for permanent display in Mitchell Community College’s Vocational Building on the Statesville Campus.

The Department of Art is fortunate to have a Level II painting class with painters as skilled as Will Auten, Lindsey Donovan, Halie Gettys, Devyn Lopez, and Brittney Smith. These artists will soon have the large scale memorial painting ready for its May 5 unveiling.
