Start your career in music at Mitchell with an Associate in Fine Arts in Music degree. Our accredited program prepares you for transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor’s degree.
The Associate in Fine Arts in Music to Bachelor of Music Articulation Agreement (AFA in Music to BM) is an agreement jointly created by the North Carolina Community College System AFA in Music programs and the University of North Carolina System/the North Carolina Independent College and Universities BM programs. The AFA in Music to BM is focused on facilitating the transfer process for students who begin music studies at a community college and then transfer to one of the UNC System BM programs.

Award-winning faculty members are professional musicians who provide individual and small-group lessons. Be challenged and supported by high-quality instruction and personal attention as you progress in musicianship and performance. You will gain knowledge in music theory and music history. You will also develop your talents in solo recitals and ensemble concerts learning from professional musicians in master classes, recitals and ensemble performances.
