Community Chorus

For more than two decades, Mitchell’s Community Chorus has provided singers in Iredell County with opportunities for personal enrichment, community engagement and musical excellence in a fun and positive environment. We invite singers age 16 and older to share their talents and love of music with our appreciative audiences in seasonal and special concerts. There are no fees and no auditions, and anyone may join the group, regardless of prior training and experience.

The chorus is directed by Emily Schuttenberg, whose credentials include numerous solo recitals, music theatre, and opera productions as well as degrees in piano and musical theatre from Huntingdon College and a master’s degree in music from Western Carolina University.

The Community Chorus rehearses on Tuesdays, 7-9 p.m., in Shearer Hall. Rehearsals begin in September and conclude in May with concerts typically scheduled in December and May.
