Mitchell’s Community Band will perform a concert with a big band sound to get you in the mood for the holidays. The event is Monday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Shearer Hall. Featured selections include “Believe” from the movie Polar Express, Bach’s “Prelude and Fugue in B-Flat Major,” Mannheim Steamroller’s arrangement of “Pat-a-Pan,” and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You.” New to this year’s program will be “A Celtic Christmas,” an arrangement of Christmas carols with an Irish melody. The concert will also feature the popular 5 til 5 Ensemble. The band is directed by Jack Horner.
The event is free and open to the public. Shearer Hall is located on the main historic campus in Statesville.
