College Credit–Visiting/Guest Students or Special Credit Students

If you are attending another college but want to take classes at Mitchell Community College to transfer back to your home institution or if you just want to take a class or two, but don’t want to complete a degree, diploma or certificate, you may list the program of study/major on the application as SPECIAL CREDIT or VISITING/GUEST STUDENT. Visiting students who attend another college or university are responsible for determining if the class(es) will transfer.

  • Request that your college transcript be sent to Admissions at admissions@mitchellcc.edu. If you have not taken a college level math or English, you may have to take the placement test before you can register. Proof of meeting prerequisites for desired courses must be provided.

  • After submitting an Application for Admission and official college transcripts, contact the Admissions Department in Student Services at Statesville (704) 978-5493 or Mooresville (704) 978-5415 and ask to speak with an Admissions Specialist or email admissions@mitchellcc.edu. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Fridays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Note: Use the Self Service Course Catalog to view course listings. The listing of summer and fall term course offerings are typically available in early March, and spring course listings are available in mid-October. Visitors may search course offerings without having to log in. Search for Classes
