N.C. Advanced Manufacturing Day Apr. 9

Mitchell Community College will celebrate N.C. Advanced Manufacturing Day with an open house on Tuesday, April 9 at the Technology/Workforce Development Center and Continuing Education Center, 701 W. Front St., Statesville. The event is part of a state-wide initiative to show prospective students and parents how innovative technologies are setting new industry standards, creating lucrative career opportunities.

Instructors will showcase Mitchell’s programs and success stories. Participants will hear about some of our graduates who, after completion, secured well-paid jobs and others, who transferred and went on to receive bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Dr. Scott Ralls, president of the North Carolina Community College System office will be at Mitchell for the event.

The 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. sessions are for middle school, high school, and college students. Parents and other community members are encouraged to come to the 3-6 p.m. session. Participants will get a chance to win an iPad or one of many other door prizes.
